Neil's backyard before he installed automatic sprinkers.
Neil's Halloween Costume when he was in college...
Neil thought he had parked his car in a good spot....
Neil was always the apple of his mum's eye. When he was very young, he used to
walk to school, 11 miles each way, up hill, in the winter, and boy, was it HOT!
It was about this time that Neil moved to Los Angeles, to be closer to the formal theatre scene on Broadway at 42nd St. It wasn't until nearly a decade later that he learned that the real "Broadway and 42nd Street" was not in Los Angeles, but was in New York City! By then, he had started his own street gang, the "42nd Street Broadway Gang," who specialized in fighting with members of the American Federation of Musicians.
After an investigation, it was found that since Neil was the leader of the gang that was causing the union so much trouble, they would ban his friends, The Kinks, from touring the U.S. for several years.
Now, it can be told.
Neil eventually quit the gang, got the AFM ban overturned, and, when caught dressing in drag, gave Ray Davies the idea for the hit song "Lola." After all, "Lola" is almost "Neil" spelled backwards. But not quite.
