Dear Neil,
I'm afraid I'm quite a newbie...found you quite by happy accident after staying up til 4am trolling the internet looking for kindred spirits after RAY last played NYC. It occurred to me then (after 40+ years-gad! 1964 REALLY WAS a loooong time ago! -of feeling,at times,quite a lonely fan) that there HAD to be other extreme RAY & KINKS fans somewhere in the world! One link led to another and soon I was the happy recipient of your KPS newsletter.
After a long hard day of teaching, I so look forward to reading the newsletter. I hope you know how much your commitment, knowledge & effort are appreciated by fans all over the world. It helps me feel finally connected to this crazy community of dedicated followers. I'm so happy to have found you! You are truly a well-respected man, Mr. Ottenstein!

In a letter published in the Muswell Hill Journal in March of 2007, Rose wrote:

"For fans around the world, the Clissold Arms and its Kinks Corner represent an important tribute due to The Kinks. Similar to Liverpool, Muswell Hill holds a place in rock music history for millions. The Kinks have proudly preserved and promoted their home through their music for over 40 years.

Many have made the "pilgrimage" to visit the places made famous in the songs that have been the soundtrack of our lives. There is a potential tourism market that could be better developed if properly packaged and advertised. Rather than disregarding the treasure in your midst, we fans ardently hope the new owners of the pub will recognise the significance of this historic building and its contents.
